5 Indian Youths that have done great things in 2022 (International Youth Day)

They have achieved great things not only for themselves but also made India proud in many ways! We are talking about some Indian youths setting trends and driving innovations to make this world a better place for all!

We have shortlisted five such Indian youths in 2022 who are athletes, entrepreneurs, and artists!

1. Mirabai Chanu (Indian weightlifter)

The silver medalist of the Tokyo Summer Olympics 2022, Mirabai Chanu, is a pride of India and an inspiration for the country’s young women! This 28-year Manipuri girl continued her winning spree in Commonwealth Games 2022 by bagging a Gold medal in the 49kg weightlifting category.

Even after having a small stature, Mirabai lifted the massive 113 kgs and, at the same time, made it look so easy! The Government of India awarded her Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna and Padma Shri for her contribution to Indian sports.

2. Ramesh Praggnanandhaa (Young Indian Chess Master)

The chess prodigy of India, Ramesh Praggnanandhaa, is only 17 years old and has already defeated the world’s no. 1, Carlsen, not once but 3 times! He became the grandmaster only at the age of 12.

Besides, he also participated in several national and international chess tournaments and emerged victorious in most of them. He proved that you could achieve anything you want at any given age with determination and hard work.

He is indeed one of the most inspiring Indian youths in 2022 who made us proud.

3. Jiya Rai (Para-swimmmer)

While some stigma is still attached to autism, Jiya Rai, a 13-year-old autistic girl, made a record by becoming the youngest and fastest female swimmer to cross the Palk Straight in the world.

She swam the 18.5 kilometres in just 13 hours, making the world stunned! She was diagnosed with autism when she was a toddler. However, it was never an excuse for her

to stop dreaming. She not only brought laurels to India but also became a face of autism awareness among people.

4. Namit Malhotra (CEO of DNEG, a VFX And Animation Studio)

What can be prouder for our country than winning an Oscar? Zendaya-Timothée Chalamet’s starrer Dune won Oscar in the Best Visual Effects’. Namit and his team of DNEG VFX and Animation Studio made it possible!

It is a milestone for India as we are leading the AVGC sector and able to meet global demands.

5. Kartik Aaryan (Actor)

This newcomer in Bollywood debuted with Luv Ranjan’s romantic-comedy Pyaar Ka Punchnama in 2011. While many thought, including the film critics, that he has yet to prove his mettle as an artist, Bhool Bhulaiyya 2, the horror-comedy shut their mouths. It is the 2nd highest grossing Bollywood film of the year!

After this box office hit, he bagged several other movie offers and brand endorsements. Currently, he is considered one of the major youth icons of the Indian film industry!
