2. Chakrata

If you are a mountain person at heart and want a quaint time in the hills, then Chakrata is an excellent alternative for hill stations like Manali. A cantonment town near Dehradun, Uttarakhand, is ideal for people looking to spend a relaxing time during their holiday.   

Best time to visit: You can visit Chakrata from March to June   

Places to visit: Tiger Falls, River-rafting in Kanasar, Budher Caves, and Bird-watching in Deoban.   

3. Khimsar Village

For a similar and more untouched experience, you can visit Khimsar Village, situated between Jodhpur and Bikaner. Revered as the starting point of the magnificent Thar desert, it is one of the most rewarding low-key destinations in India.  

Best time to visit: You can visit Khimsar between November to February

4. Mawlynnong

Considered the cleanest village in Asia, it has plenty of untouched natural beauty to offer, like the Living Roots Bridge.   

Best time to visit: You can visit Mawlynnong between March and June
